Oldrids & Downtown have been retail pioneers since 1804.  Our first department store in Boston was one of the earliest of its kind.  We were also ahead of the curve when we opened our first large edge-of-town store under the Downtown brand.

We have recently announced ambitious plans for a £125 million designer outlet to open in 2019 at our Downtown site in Grantham.

It is at this exciting time that we are establishing the new role of Visitor and Events Manager to support our new Head of Marketing in the delivery of game-changing increases in brand awareness, footfall, dwell-time and average spend across our existing estate and also with the B2B and B2C marketing of the Downtown Grantham Designer Outlet.  This you will do by developing and executing a busy calendar of activities and in-store events to bring theatre and atmosphere to our stores, enhancing the customer experience.  In addition, you will work with business partners and local authorities to maximise opportunities for tourism-related visits to our Grantham site.

To succeed in this important role:

•    Leadership, teamwork and courage are key attributes you should have;

•    You will need previous experience of marketing / events, ideally gained whilst working for a multi-site retailer or hospitality business;

•    You will of course be a high-performing networker, with the ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders;

•    Your outgoing personality, influencing skills, tenacity and passion will enable you to break down any barriers to success and engender the support you need from third parties and colleagues across the business to deliver excellent results; and

•    It is not necessary to have held a management position previously, but commercial acumen and excellent organisational and budget-management skills are, of course, essential.
